My name is Samantha Martin. 

From a very young age I knew I wanted a career that involved animals, especially dogs. I Initially wanted to be a veterinary nurse so I completed my animal management level 3 course and soon after completed placements in various veterinary clinics, then worked as. A vets Receptionist, also assisting with underwater treadmilIs.

During that stage I also volunteered at a dog groomers and realised how much I loved it.

In August 2021 I reached out to a local dog groomer who agreed to train me. I trained under her guidance in the hope of opening my own dog grooming business.

I am a dog mum to Blu, Amber and Ivy. Amber, my miniature schnauzer has been my model throughout my training.  

I am now the proud owner of The Barking Lounge and provide a one to one dog grooming service. I only like to use natural products that are kind to the dogs skin. At The Barking Lounge my aim is to make your pet feel comfortable and relaxed during their visit. I will always strive to do my best for the dog and put your pets needs first during the duration of the groom.
